June Update

The Water Is Rising!
If you haven’t noticed already, the pool thermometer sign by Loomis Raleys has been updated again to reflect a total of $250,000 raised for the new aquatic center! Thanks to a steady stream of fundraisers: Pennies for the Pool, The 24-Hour Swim A Thon, Casino Night, and the Golf Tournament, along with continued donations to the capital campaign, we have achieved this major milestone. Please use the attached form to make a donation today and help us to our next goal of $500,000. Naming opportunities start as low as $150, and every dollar will be matched by our million dollar matching grant.

Win a Vacation In Puerto Vallarta!
Pizza Factory in Loomis is celebrating their 25th anniversary the last weekend of June! In conjunction with this celebration, the owners, Maren and Eric Lombardi, have generously decided to sponsor a raffle to benefit the new pool. The prize is a week in their beautiful condo in Puerto Vallarta which sleeps 4, valued at $700 (check it out at www.castillobadillo.com). Airfare is not included. Tickets are only $10 apiece or $50 for 6 tickets. The drawing will happen Sunday, July 29, right after Suburban Swim League Champs when the Dolphins traditionally head over to Pizza Factory to celebrate. Pizza Factory has been a Dolphin sponsor for many years. We are grateful to their continued support of our team and the Del Oro Pool. To purchase tickets, you can go to Pizza Factory or contact us at friendsofthedopool@gmail.com.

Pies for the Pool
Here’s some good news for all you pie lovers out there! Dolphin swimmer, Livia DeMartini and her mother Naomie are taking weekly orders for homemade pies this summer, with profits going to the pool fund. Deliveries will be made to the DO pool every Thursday until the end of July except July 19. Please place your orders by Tuesday of the same week. When placing your order, please let them know which time you would like your pie delivered. Options are at 8:45 a.m. or 5:00 p.m. Incredibly delicious choices include:
Apple Pie: $20
Berry Pie: $20
Savory Tomato Tart: $25
Cookie Pie—basically a huge chocolate chip cookie in a pie pan: $10
Place your orders by email at liviarocks247@yahoo.com or call/text orders to Naomie at 530-574-7417. Please make checks payable to Naomie DeMartini.

Golf Tournament
Thank you to American Legion Post 775 for sponsoring our first golf tournament held June 3rd at Indian Creek Golf Course. While final results are not in yet, we expect the event to net over $5,000. The tournament was a success thanks to our many sponsors and golfers. Thank you especially to Tom Millward and Russ Kelley for organizing this event.

Thank You to Our Corporate Donors
We are so glad to have Nationwide on our side! After sponsoring both the 24-Hour Swim A Thon and Casino Night, they also held a raffle at LBD time trials in May resulting in another $600 donation. Give Ben Lauer at Nationwide Insurance a call or send an email to get a quote on your insurance. With each new policy he will also donate $100 in your name to the Del Oro Aquatic Center.
